I know this question might sound silly, But I am completely serious. What should I eat before a test? Does chewing gum really increased brain activity while testing?
- gum – helps improve test scores if chewed before, not during, testing
- slow-release carbohydrates
The chewing motion gets blood flowing to the head which can help the brain function faster with better memory. Chewing of gum before a test is known to raise the heart rate as well as blood pressure which sends more blood to the brain for a total of around 20 minutes. Also the same happens with a mild exercise. It is advisable to eat things like slow-release carbohydrates, such as whole rolled porridge oats, whole grain bread or low-sugar muesli to provide the brain with energy and also include some proteins like yoghurt
