15 Day time limit

No. Since April, 2015, the National Motor Freight Classification (NMFC) reduced the period from 15 days to 5 days.  Concealed damage is freight that might have been damaged during transit, but the damage or loss was not noted before signing the proof of delivery. The claimant is legally allowed to establish procedures to inspect incoming freight and parcels to allow time for inspection within 5-day period and not 15 days as it was before the change in 2015. One reason for the reduced window is because communication in logistics is much more rapid than it was when the initial rule was set in place.
